SCHOOLS

The education system in Canada, in terms of funding sources, encompasses two types of schools: public and private schools. They include:

* the elementary and secondary schools,
* language schools,
* community colleges,
* technical institutes,
* summer camps,
* colleges,
* university colleges,
* universities,
* religious colleges,
* traditional schools,
* special education institutions and
many more privately owned and operated ethnic schools.

RESPONSIBILITY OF CANADIAN EDUCATION SYSTEM
For the most part education is provided and funded by the Canadian government. In Canada, education is compulsory and FREE for Canadian children up to the age of 16 except in Ontario, Manitoba and New Brunswick, where the compulsory age is 18. The education programs and curriculum is mainly under the jurisdiction of the provincial and territorial government.

SCHOOL LIFE FOR CANADIANS
Education is important to the Canadians and standards across the whole country are uniformly high. The school year normally runs from September through to the following June with several breaks and public holidays in between. The student intake dates may vary but they are possible during the school year.

By law, children must go to school in Canada. The children usually begin schooling at the age of 5 and continue until they are between 16 and 18:
* Pre-elementary, 3 – 5 years of age
* Elementary: Grades one to five, 5 – 10 years of age
* Middle: Grades six to eight, 11 – 13 years of age
* Secondary: Grades nine to twelve, 14 – 17 years of age

There are English-language and French-language schools across Canada even in areas where one language is more commonly spoken than the other.

After secondary schools, the children may attend trades schools, colleges or universities either in Canada or overseas.

At studyincanada.fun, we help foreign students of all levels to come to Canada to study.

FOR FOREIGN STUDENTS WHO NEED VISAS
Through our associates, we can help foreign applicants to secure a study permit or a visitor visa to come to Canada to attend the schools above or any Canadian schools. If your course is under 6 months, you probably need a visitor visa unless you are from a visa-exempt country and not a study permit.
